The Greatest TV Show

My colleagues were discussing about great TV shows - Prison Break, Buffy, etc. They asked me, what I believe to be the greatest TV show.

Jack Bauer in 24"I'm biased. You shouldn't ask me this question. The greatest TV show in the history of mankind is 24", came as my reply. This is my opinion. I continued, "Just like web browsers complement the Internet; Google complement googling; iPod complements portable music player; 24 complements and completes TV."

Yes, I'm a 24 die-hard junkie.

Superman is one of the few individuals who could possibly survive a confrontation with Jack Bauer. But that is only because he can fly away.

And yes, I know, I realize and I'm aware that my answer is biased.

American Idol is only popular because it has a commercial for 24.

Notebook as Umbrella

It is raining in Penang now. Most of the employees in this company are given a notebook / laptop. It is sad and shocking to see that some employee uses this notebook / laptop as umbrella. These notebooks / laptops are not the Panasonic Toughbook, so, don't use it as umbrella!! Sigh!!!

Why we buy what we buy

"Economists know all about choosing jam," he says, ambling down an aisle with 73 varieties. He describes an experiment where academics set up a tasting booth in a store in California. On some days they put out six kinds of jam, on others 24. When the booth had 24 types, it was mobbed - "there was more colour, more excitement". But it was the sales that were truly remarkable: with six jams on show, 30% of customers bought a jar; when 24 were out, only 3% did. "Jams are hardly complex things, but people saw 24 stacked together and thought: 'I have no idea how to deal with this.'"

Long but worth reading.
